Pam's trip w/ the boys to Massachusetts...
While I was off galavanting around Paris, Pam took both boys cross country to Mass to see her family. The kids had a blast seeing the grandparents, but the most fun was had by Nikolai getting to play with his cousins. We worked the trip so I would fly the first and last legs (Tucson to Dallas and Dallas to Tucson) with Nikolai on my lap, and then we bought Niko his own ticket with his carseat for the Dallas to Hartford trip. Worked out pretty well - except that this was the email I got from Pam describing how things went after I got on the Paris flight:
Let me tell you how much our flight sucked on Thurs. We were delayed until 7PM when you left....then it was 7:30.....then 2 planes were scheduled out of the same gate so more time goes by and no action. Then the pilot is on the plane but there are no available stewardesses so on goes the waiting....Finally at 8:30 we start to board the plane. Even though I asked to be pre boarded...we weren't because they had to call someone to help me. More and more frustrated I get! Finally we get on the plane last and at this point Nikolai is beyond tired (only slept for 1.5 hrs in the airport). They were total champions in the airport by the way. Max slept a lot and Nikolai was so good. Anyways....we get on the plane and the flight attendant is putting in the carseat. Nikolai is screaming because he doesn't want to sit in it and Max is screaming because he just woke up hungry! So starts the flight. I get Niko settled and start feeding Max. He doesn't want to eat and just is crying!!!!! On and on we go. Finally calm him down and Niko starts up....you can see how it was going. At one point Niko was crying and Max was eating and Max pulled off the boobie and started to cry. Well all of a sudden I feel wetness on my foot and I look down to see Milk spraying out of my boob all over my leg, the side of the carseat and the floor. I had sprung a leak! Then all got quiet...both boys fell asleep. The plane lands and Niko wakes up SCREAMING. Don't know why. Anyways....this really nice girl named Jennifer who was a flight attendant for AA flying off duty came up and said she would help me off the plane. She carries Max so I can carry Niko out to the jetway to the waiting stroller. Well...guess what....no waiting stroller. Apparently the bitch at the gate in Dallas didn't do what she was supposed to do. So Jennifer carried Max and I carried Niko and pushed the rest in a wheelchair to baggage where my parents were. So thankful to her for helping. Anyways by the time we get home it was 3:45 AM!!!! I get Niko to sleep and got to bed at 4:45. So ends the worst day of my life!!!!!!
That blows... Pretty funny story. Nikolai and Ryan (Niko's cousin) were playing Royal Rumble any chance they could! They had a great time! Max was fantastic the entire trip, and all the family loved to see the boys. It was also great for Pam to relax while dreading the return flight! My mom, Rosie, and Oskar even came up for an afternoon to hang out and see the kids. Lots of great pictures!
